African superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has commented on Real Madrid rumours, and revealed the one club he would never join.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos, and has often sparked the speculation himself.
However, recent reports suggest that Zinedine Zidane is not too keen on bringing the 2015 CAF African Player of the Year to the Santiago Bernabeu.
« I don’t know if that’s true but, also, I am not interested in it, » Aubameyang said, as quoted by ESPN.
« If Real want me, they will call me one day and, if not, no problem. I live my life and am optimistic about the future. »
Despite often being open about a move away from Dortmund, Aubameyang also insisted he would never join their Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
« I would never join Bayern, » he added.
« That’s for sure. That would be too hard on the Dortmund fans. Whatever they’d offer me, I’d say no.
« Nobody can foresee the future. I love it at Dortmund, but I can’t say that I’ll stay for two more years, or five or 10. It’s possible that a club could reach an agreement with Dortmund in June and I’ll go.
« I want to be honest: When you are ambitious and also want to see something else… it’s difficult to talk about. Some players have ambitions, and therefore they leave and want to experience something new, you know. »
Aubameyang is currently representing Gabon at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, and has scored twice during his country’s two draws in the tournament so far.
