Crystal Palace defender Pape Souare has made his first appearance nearly a year after breaking his thighbone and jaw in a fatal car crash.
The 27-year-old had to be airlifted to hospital after crashing on the M4 in September 2016, and only returned to full training earlier this month.
Senegal international Souare was in action for 45 minutes for Palace Under-23s as they were defeated 2-1 by Nottingham Forest.
He had a chance to give Palace a 2-0 lead on 41 minutes but he headed wide.
After the match he tweeted: “Glad to get some minutes under my belt. Feeling good.”
Born in Mbao, Souaré spent his early career with Diambars, Lille II, Lille and Reims. He moved to Crystal Place in January 2015. On 22 January 2016, it was announced that Souaré had signed a new three-and-a half-year contract with Palace.
